Hey my ladies!  So it’s a new month and we’ve set some goals for things we want to do, places we want to see and situations we would like to change. Sometimes we know exactly what to do, while other times we just don’t know where to start.  Well transformation begins from within! Here I have a few tips of different ways to be truly YOU and to be proud of what your mother blessed you with. Let’s talk about it!
1. Change up Your Hair

Now I can attest to a hair transformation as I did the big “chop” right before the New Year. The thought can be a bit frightening but it can also be refreshing if you really desire a change. Sometimes, when we (women) switch up our hair, we’re also bound to switch up some other things in our lives. So whether you’re considering the transition from long hair to short, black hair to a bold red, know that this is more than just vanity, this is you BEcoming the person you really want to be. So if this has been something you’ve been thinking about doing, stop procrastinating, go ahead and “JUST DO IT”.

2: Set A Fitness Goal
Now as mothers, students and business owners, it can seem like there isn’t enough hours in a day to set fitness goals and stick with them. But some of the most successful people in the world (ahem.. Beyoncé) make it a TOP priority to stay fit. Your body is your temple and you deserve to look good and feel even better.  If your goal is to lose 15 pounds or tone up in the New Year, find a trustworthy accountability partner, give yourself a set date and make it happen. Yes, it’s always easier to say than to do, but if you don’t take care of your body there is no one to blame. Love yourself enough to give it your ALL and see how accomplished and amazing you will feel in the long run. Check out some amazing fitness trends and the wardrobe to match in our fitness edition.

3.  Wardrobe Checks

Our style is a reflection of who we are and what we love at certain seasons in our lives. Yes, we are the same person on the outside, but on the inside something new is brewing and sometimes our wardrobe doesn’t portray this new person we’re BEcoming. There are many reasons for a change in your wardrobe including weight loss, a new position, or a recent marriage. Even if the cause for your lack luster wardrobe is a bit more subtle, NEW is always refreshing. If you don’t know where to start or how to start, just follow these easy steps to fabulosity!

1. Find a stylish friend to help you sort through your mess of a wardrobe.

2. Understand your body type and what works well for you.

3. Find style inspiration (who has the style you wish to acquire).

4. Create a style inspiration board and the most important one of them all……

5. GO SHOPPING!!

Now this can be an enjoyable process IF, you follow the first four steps. Bring that friend along with a focused mind and you’ll be walking into that next function OWNING the ground you walk on. Don’t worry, you got this! Check out these links below for more inspiration;

4.  Wear Bold Statement Pieces
As we talked about leaving the old and bringing in the new, adding bold statement pieces to your outfit could be all you need to transform your mundane and boring look into something  inspiring.   Including a statement necklace or an eye catching shoe can definitely be a well needed update. If you’ve ever said, “that would look nice on so and so,” then that’s the piece that you probably need. So often we cater to everyone else while neglecting ourselves, but you do have great taste.  Its time stop doubting yourself and pick up that bag, buy those earring and wear that showy necklace with that fancy dress. The world is waiting to compliment you on your presence, so give them a chance.

5. Love the skin you’re in

Another reason we also tend to feel dull is due to neglect in our skin care regime. In the summer we make sure to keep everything from our head to our toes in shape then slack during the colder seasons (guilty).  Creating a skin care regimen that allows you to focus on one part of the body every day or once a week is a sure plan to getting your skin back to that sun-kissed glow. This includes, but is not limited to, body scrubs, body butters, and constant hydration. Here are a few of my favorites:

6. Spice up Your Make-Up Routine

I understand that not every woman feels the need to wear makeup, but don’t fall into the trap that you’ll need a whole bunch of products and it will make you look like a different person. Make-up was created to enhance your features and to cover up unwanted blemishes. Finding a healthy balance for the use of makeup can be where most women get lost. If you don’t know where to start, you can go to an in-store make-up artist from Sephora or Lancôme and they will consult you on a few products or you can try a one-on-one consultation from companies like Mary Kay or Avon. You always want to go for a product that will enhance one of your best facial features. For every one it starts with finding the perfect foundation, and lip shade. For others, it might be a bold new eye color or even mascara. Whichever direction you choose to go in, do it because you deserve to be beautiful for you.
